I always complain to Sari or Mita about their food blogs because the pictures make me feel hungry. Alas, my first blog is about food.
Domesticated person I will never be, but my Sunday is always cooking day, obligating all those dreams about food all week long (exausting!!!). Sunday is the only day that I actually make plan of what I will be cooking (improvisation is still allowed especially if Roger does the grocery shopping).
Thanks to Anik, today I did not have to tie up so much in my kitchen and was able to watch Dana on TLC: The Next Great Baker. Menu for tonight were steak pepper and onion with apple gravy, rosemary roast potatoes, and sauteed spinach with pecans. Anik made the apple gravy and the rosemary roast potatoes.
The dessert is no crust sweet potatoes pie. The pie is easy to make. I only used 2/3 cup of sugar and am considering using wholewheat flour instead of all purpose flour next time I make it. It is sweet and creamy.
The cinnamon on the apple gravy and pie made my house smell like holiday. Who needs potpourri after this?
Tips: spinach is rich in iron, but vitamin C makes it easy for our body to absorb it. So I squeezed a little of lemon juice when I sauteed my spinach.
